    Top picks for you

A clothes rack is a freestanding or wall-mounted rail for hanging garments, a drying rack is a folding frame for wet washing, and hangers are sold separately in packs. This page has all three: Artiss coat stands and airers, a CARLA HOME rolling double-rail garment rack, wall-mounted racks, folding and tripod drying racks, and wooden hangers from Dolphy and Lotus Wood in packs and sets of 24 and 50.

How to choose a clothes rack

Decide first whether the rack has to hold hanging clothes or dry wet ones. For hanging, check the listed length and height against your wardrobe or room: the Artiss racks list 150cm and 179cm, the CARLA HOME garment rack lists 90 x 44 x 180 cm with three wire shelves, and the Artiss pants trolley lists a 30kg capacity across 30 hangers. A rack on wheels moves for cleaning, and the Artiss pants trolley has 4 caster wheels with 2 locking brakes. For drying, the foldable airers and the tripod rack fold away between loads, and the wall-mounted racks keep washing off the floor of a small laundry.

    Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between a clothes rack and a drying rack?

A clothes rack, or garment rack, holds hanging clothes on a rail, and a drying rack or airer is loaded with wet washing and folded away afterwards. Several Artiss racks here are sold as airers and coat stands in one.

    Which clothes rack has wheels?

The CARLA HOME double-rail garment rack is listed as rolling, the Artiss 6ft rail has 4 castors with 2 lockable, the Artiss 173cm airer has four lockable wheels, and the Artiss pants trolley has 4 caster wheels with 2 locking brakes.

How big is a wooden clothes hanger?

The Dolphy hangers list 44.5cm and the Lotus Wood hangers list 445mm, so both are the same width. Dolphy sells its hangers in packs of 24 and 50, and Lotus Wood in sets of 24.

    What is a security hanger?

The Dolphy security hangers have an anti-theft ring, a non-slip bar and grooved shoulders. Their listings name hotels, guest rooms, retail spaces and shared wardrobes.

Is there a clothes rack that mounts on the wall?

Yes. The adjustable iron pipe rack lists lengths of 90, 135 and 180 cm and a 30 kg capacity, the Artiss wall-mounted rack lists 175cm and 30KG, and there are wall-mounted drying racks from Alston and Tooleroo. Wall-mounted ironing board holders are on the iron and ironing board page.
