    Monitoring & Testing

    View as

This page has personal monitoring devices for use at home: three digital breathalysers, upper arm and wrist blood pressure monitors, a replacement large cuff, a Bluetooth body fat scale, a pedometer smart bracelet and an armband heart rate monitor.

    How to choose

Upper arm or wrist. An upper arm monitor uses a cuff that wraps around the arm, so the cuff has to fit. A wrist monitor is smaller to store and carry. The two wrist monitors here, in black and in white, store up to 120 readings for two users.

Cuff size. Measure around your upper arm. The Large Cuff Set includes a standard 22-32cm cuff and a large 22-42cm cuff. The Large Cuff + AC Adapter model comes with the 22-42cm cuff. The replacement large cuff (32-42cm) is sold without a monitor and is listed for models BMG5714, BMG5715, BMG5717, 1491 and 1491BT.

Power. Three upper arm models run on batteries or an included AC adapter: the Kit w/ Cuff, the Monitor with AC Adapter and the Large Cuff Set. The Large Cuff + AC Adapter model comes with a 240V AC adapter. The black wrist monitor runs on AAA batteries, and the white wrist monitor's listing does not state its power source.

Breathalysers. The mini handbag and car breathalyser and the pocket-size breathalyser have a semiconductor sensor, need no mouthpiece and come with a USB cable. The keychain alcohol tester runs on 2 x AAA batteries, which are not included, and has a backlit screen, a clock and a timer. The keychain tester lists a test range of 0.00 to 0.19% BAC, and the other two list the same range.

Fitness tracking. The body fat scale charges by USB, syncs with an app over Bluetooth, takes up to 180kg and supports up to 8 users. The pedometer smart bracelet is rated IP68. The armband heart rate monitor lists up to 35 hours of battery life, and it pairs with fitness apps over ANT+ as well.

    Frequently asked questions

Should I choose an upper arm or a wrist blood pressure monitor?

An upper arm monitor uses a cuff, so it has to fit your arm, and this page has standard (22-32cm) and large (22-42cm) cuffs. A wrist monitor is smaller, and the two here store up to 120 readings for two users.

What cuff size do I need?

Measure around your upper arm and compare it with the listed ranges: standard 22-32cm, large 22-42cm, or the replacement large cuff at 32-42cm.

Do the blood pressure monitors need batteries?

Three upper arm models run on batteries or an included AC adapter, and the Large Cuff + AC Adapter model comes with a 240V AC adapter. The black wrist monitor runs on AAA batteries. The white wrist monitor's listing does not state its power source.
