Ashtray Bins & Cigarette Butt Bins

An ashtray bin is a bin with a place to put out a cigarette on top, so one unit takes both ash and general rubbish in a smoking area. The same thing is sold as a cigarette butt bin, a smokers' bin or an outdoor ashtray. This page has two stainless steel ashtray bins from Dolphy: a round 10 litre bin with an open top and a square 24 litre bin with an ashtray grid and a removable inner bucket.

How to choose an ashtray bin

Round or square. The round bin has an open top and measures 250 x 610 mm. The square bin measures 240 x 240 x 620 mm and has a grid on top for putting cigarettes out, with a front opening for general waste.

Capacity and emptying. The round bin holds 10 litres. The square bin holds approximately 24 litres and has a removable galvanised inner bucket, listed at 200 x 200 x 320 mm, that lifts out for emptying.

Finish. The round bin is rust-resistant stainless steel with a polished silver finish. The square bin is SUS201 stainless steel with a 0.6 mm plate and an anti-fingerprint silver finish, and it is freestanding.

Where to put one. The round 10L bin's listing names entrances, patios and smoking zones, in hotels, resorts and offices, and says it suits indoor and outdoor environments. The square 24L bin's listing names hotels, offices, shopping centres, restaurants and public smoking areas, and describes it as suiting interior or exterior spaces. Neither listing gives a water rating.
