    How to choose a water dispenser

    Start with whether you need hot and cold water. The Devanti bench top cooler lists a hot tank and a cold tank, and it is a top-loading design, so it takes a water bottle. Otherwise choose a gravity filter. The Devanti and Orku listings say no electricity or plumbing is needed. Then choose the size: the Devanti filters list 14L, 16L and 24L, the Shoppers Home 8 stage filters list 14L, 16L, 22L, 24L and 28L, and the Orku lists a total of 17L in two 8.5L tanks. Check the tank capacity and the listed size against how many people will use it and the space you have.

    A water cooler gives you hot or cold water from a bottle. The Devanti bench top cooler lists two taps, hot water up to 90°C and cold water down to 9°C. A gravity filter filters tap water as it passes from the top tank to the lower tank and does not heat or cool it.

    Do gravity water dispensers need electricity?

    The Devanti and Orku listings say that no electricity or plumbing is needed. The Shoppers Home listings describe non cooling benchtop filters with an upper and a lower tank and do not list a power supply.
