    Top picks for you

A housekeeping trolley, also called a cleaning trolley or cleaning cart, is a wheeled cart that carries cleaning supplies, linen and amenities from room to room. The Dolphy carts here include models with a built-in waste bin, a lockable cabinet or a zippered laundry bag.

How to choose a housekeeping trolley

Start with the corridor, then what the cart has to carry. The silver multifunction trolley is 920 mm long and the large commercial service cart is 150 cm long, so check the width of your service corridor and the lift before you choose. A built-in waste bin saves wheeling a separate bin from room to room, a lockable cabinet suits carts that carry chemicals or guest amenities, and a zippered laundry bag collects soiled linen out of sight. The polypropylene housekeeping cart lists knock-down detachable wheels and the 3-shelf plastic and vinyl trolley a detachable structure, for storage or transport.

The 3-shelf plastic and vinyl trolley pairs 4-inch swivel wheels at the front with 8-inch fixed wheels at the back, and its listing says it moves across carpet and tiles. Frequently asked questions

    What is a housekeeping trolley?

A housekeeping trolley is a wheeled cart with shelves or compartments that carries a room attendant's cleaning supplies, linen and amenities. Some carry a waste bin or a laundry bag as well, so the attendant does not need to push a separate bin.

Is a housekeeping trolley the same as a cleaning trolley?

Yes, the two terms describe the same kind of cart. The listings on this page use housekeeping trolley, cleaning trolley and cleaning cart for the same products.

Which housekeeping trolley suits a hotel?

Every cart on this page names hotels or hospitality in its listing, so choose by what it has to carry. The stainless steel trolley with a lockable cabinet suits chemicals and amenities that should not sit open, the two carts with a built-in waste bin suit a team that wants one cart for rubbish and supplies, and the carts with a zippered laundry bag suit collecting linen.

What size is a housekeeping trolley?

The shortest cart on this page is the silver multifunction trolley at 920 mm long, and the longest are the large commercial service cart and the grey commercial housekeeping trolley at 150 cm. The tallest is the wooden and stainless steel linen cart at 1275 mm. Each product page gives the exact length, width and height.

Do housekeeping trolleys come apart for storage?

The polypropylene cart has knock-down detachable wheels, and the 3-shelf plastic and vinyl trolley has a detachable structure, so both can be stored or moved compactly when they are not in use.

For general moving and storage rather than room servicing, see utility trolleys: folding hand trucks, a salon trolley, and sports and garden storage carts.
