    Sensor bins

    Top picks for you

Sensor bins are rubbish bins with a motion sensor that opens the lid, so you do not touch it. The range here runs from 7L to 58L in plastic, steel and stainless steel, mostly from Devanti, with Dolphy, Artiss and CARLA HOME models too. Most list battery power, and where a listing mentions batteries it says they are not included, so check the battery type before you order.

How to choose a sensor bin

Start with where it will sit. The CARLA HOME slim 7L is listed as fitting beside a toilet or under a vanity and holding a standard 7-litre bin liner. The 7L to 15L bins are the small ones, the 30L to 38L bins are mid-size, and the 45L to 58L bins are the large ones. Then check the power: the Dolphy bins take C batteries and the others list AA. Stainless steel is the Dolphy 12L and 50L and the silver Devanti 50L, and the Dolphy 50L has two compartments for sorting waste.

What batteries does a sensor bin use?

It depends on the model. The Dolphy bins list C batteries, 2 x C for the 12L and 3 x C for the 50L, and the Devanti, Artiss and CARLA HOME listings that state a battery list AA. The listings say batteries are not included.
