A cat scratching post gives a cat a surface it is allowed to scratch, and a cat tree adds platforms, perches and hiding spots around the posts. This page has cat trees with scratching posts from CARLA HOME, i.Pet and Shoppers Pet, in titled heights including 69cm, 105cm, 112cm, 120cm, 134cm, 140cm, 141cm and 180cm, plus two cardboard scratchers: a vertical scratching board and a scratcher bed shaped like a retro camera.

How to choose a cat scratching post or cat tree

Height and footprint. Check the listed dimensions against the space you have. The CARLA HOME Cat Tree Tower for Kittens or Small Breeds lists 30 x 47 x 30 cm. The i.Pet 69cm tree lists 41cm x 33cm x 69cm. The CARLA HOME 141cm Cat Tree Tower lists 70 x 141 x 40 cm.

Features. Look at what the cat will use: condos for hiding, hammocks and plush perches for resting, ladders and ramps for climbing, and hanging toys for play. For example, the CARLA HOME 141cm Cat Tree Tower lists a ladder, a hammock and an enclosed condo.

Scratching surface. The i.Pet and CARLA HOME cat trees list sisal scratching posts. The Large Cat Scratching Post Tree Tower with Baskets and Cubby Cave lists two scratching posts without naming their material. The CARLA HOME Vertical Cat Scratching Board and the retro camera scratcher bed use corrugated cardboard instead.

Cat weight. A few listings give a weight limit, including the i.Pet 69cm tree, which lists a 10kg weight capacity. The Extra Large Black Cat Tree Tower and the Large Cat Scratching Post Tree Tower with Baskets list cats weighing up to 10kg.
